Well, I'm telling you today. ANy coffee is better than no coffee. And I'm mostly living on no coffee.

[Smart man, making that. Tommy didn't know what the hell to do so that he could get coffee. It was more important to keep the diner running, so he didn't do a lot for himself. Better to just, you know, provide for others and do the minimum for himself. It was better that way.]

Seems like you've adapted to random alien kidnapping well to make sure you could be comfortable.

Well, I've had practice at it and as far as random alien kidnappings go, this is not the worst possible option.

I'd considered trying to plant some of the beans, see if we could actually get a crop of them, but I think by the time they are roasted, that isn't possible anymore.

Yeah, I think roasted would be like that. Might take a few years to grow a tree too. Unless we got someone here to accelerate growth.

Probably. It usually takes more than one year for trees to start producing fruit of any sort.

Right? The idea that we might still be here long enough to see a tree grow from a seed and begin to produce fruit is kind of depressing.

[Tommy sighs and shifts how he's sitting to curl his legs under him. It's an unconscious gesture that comes from trust. Truth was that he could get out of the position quickly, but it was comfortable for him, and he'd learned very young that it wasn't something you did around people you didn't trust to not hurt you.]

I've done some planting. Not trees, well, I did have a sapling. But I know what you mean.

[Shiro could certainly understand the sentiment. He had learned that there were ways to act around the Galra in order to make yourself less of a target. If he knew that it was a sign of trust, he would appreciate it]

Yeah, I understand. The plants do help though. Food. Making this place nicer.

That would be nice. I've been trying to keep an eye for anything that might be useful when I am out. Don't really have much of anything, but I try at least.
